Thank you very much. Gives some new thought on the paint scheme.

Ray saves the day again! Thanks bro!

Yep, looks like she was a support bird for the 377th Arty in Vietnam.

Nice helmets that you have posted,

I came across this APH-5 and was wondering if it is a Blue Max helmet. The insignia I have found looks diferent than what is on there and I just can not find examples like the one on the back of the helmet. The name sticker Major "K" leads me to believe that it could be researched as there were not a ton of Majors flying at a Battalion level, if they are anything like the composition of the 227th, which my uncle was a part of. Do you guys have any opinions on this helmet or know of any reference sites that might list COs or XOs for the various ARA units. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can be. If I can ID it I want to put it into the museum in Fort Worth.

Respectfully,

Tyler Alberts

Here is the tag on the inside, the date matches what I was told about early APH-5 from some of the early pilots in 1st Cav. They were white and then overpainted green, until the factory green ones arrived in country.
