gunbarrel Posted July 3, 2007 #2 Posted July 3, 2007 That's very cool. I would love to have it sitting in my front yard!
jagjetta Posted July 3, 2007 #3 Posted July 3, 2007 Very nice monument-tank. Where is this one? I actually spend a lot of time photographing these monuments in my travels. This past weekend, on my way back from the Military Vehicles Preservation Association's annual convention, I shot a card-full of details of a US Model 1917 that is displayed in Miller Park in Bloomington, IL. I wanted to shoot pictures of an M47 that is located in Milstadt, IL but couldn't find it! John A-G Editor, Military Vehicles Magazine

I was hoping you would say "oh...it's just down the road from you, John, in northern Illinois!" I have seen several references to neat vehicles on display in Massachusetts (for example, an M37 Howitzer). Just too many cool vehicles out there to shoot them all. Thank you for sharing the Stuart.

alibi Posted July 18, 2007 #7 Posted July 18, 2007 Heres the other tank not far from my house parked outside of a VFW in Stoughton,MA believe this is a Patton or M-60? not sure but very cool tank....mike M-60 with camounflage scheme common in the 1970-80s. This tank was upgraded with the track that had seperate replaceable pads. There are two M-47s in So. California, one in Barstow, Ca. in desert camouflage scheme that was applied to M48A5s and M-60s starting in the mid-1970s. The other example is at Los Alamitos Reserve Center, in front of the Headquarters 40th Infantry Div (MECH) CAARNG.

Germanymp Posted July 18, 2007 #23 Posted July 18, 2007 Hi folks, here's another display getting ready to be shipped back to the land of the big PX! I know this is not a tank, but I thought it might be interesting enough to post it here. This halftrack was being stored in Buedingen, Germany - Armstrong Kaserne. It was in a horrible condidtion and looked like it was sitting outside in the very back of the motor pool for many year. Some guys from 1-1 Cav (back then part of 1st AD 4th Bde) restored it for display at the 4th Bde Motor Pool, Fliegerhorst Kasern Hanau. It was then transported to Fliegerhorst Kaserne, Hanau, Germany in January of 2006 and then (when 4th Bde inactivated) shipped (via Rotterdam) to the US and A.
