itsybitsy Posted February 16, 2010 Share #26 Posted February 16, 2010 ok, that size puts her mostly out of the range of original uniforms. The reproducers whose products I have examined and find to be accurate representations are www.whatpriceglory.com and www.wwiiimpressions.com. Her US size for ordering purposes would be a 14. -Sarah
Badger Posted February 16, 2010 Author Share #27 Posted February 16, 2010 Remember...you'll need an officers' cap patch too...a mirror-image of the enlisted one in your photo. OD caps with black/gold officer piping are harder to find..they were worn with the Ike uniform..I have some originals but don't know of anyone who does repros, though you might google-up EPIC MILITARIA? Also, if you wear a "chocolate" blouse, as an alternative a "pink" garrison cap would look very spiffy! Good luck. Ian  Already got Cap garrison Officers with correct piping, badge and rank insignia got that from S.O.F. in Wales last season! Elastique. Wanted one like "Airborne" style to wear with Class 2 Dress uniform, which I already have also got Choc/Pink shirts and ties, and trousers for Class A. Just trying to get one of these BL---Y caps! fortworthgal Posted February 17, 2010 Share #29 Posted February 17, 2010 Hiyes tried that, I have heard that some guys had bad experience with these? Anyone heard anything? I can never get anyone to answer the 'phone there!! I have their WAC ETO uniform, and I am pleased with it. It is a decent uniform for the price and looks good. The wool is a little bit lightweight (lighter than anything else I own - the rest of my uniforms are originals), but that's a welcome thing in Texas anyway. For a reenactor, I think it is a great uniform. I have ordered many items from WPG. He isn't the friendliest guy to talk to, but he is honest and I've never had any problems with anything I've bought from him. I also have the WWII Impressions women's cotton khaki blouses and one of their reproduction women's garrison caps. All of it is very nice quality. I'm sure WWII Impressions women's uniforms are nice, but IMHO the cost is somewhat prohibitive. Same thing with them - I've never had any problems with anything I've bought from them. If you decide to order from them, I really recommend calling first and confirming the items are in stock. Lots of times they'll be out of something and if they are, you're instantly put on a backorder list and when it comes in they charge you and ship it. In her size, she may be able to find *some* original items, but they will be far between and expensive. Any uniforms larger than a vintage 16 (about a modern US size 10) - the price skyrockets. I've never seen any original uniforms for sale larger than a size 20, about a modern US 14. I am just on the border of being able to wear original stuff, and I have seen girls much larger than myself wearing original uniforms, so I know they are out there. Badger Posted February 18, 2010 Author Share #30 Posted February 18, 2010 Sure, no problem. I've just boughten some insignia from Kevin, seems like a pleasent person to deal with. I sent him cash, which is never advisable, everything turned out okay, I'll be going back.Pat Hi you were right Kevin dispatching Female WAC officer gear on Monday, many many thanks, wife very "chuffed"! Really appreciate your help. Just need to find me another garrison cap to convert to "Airborne Style" as wwiiimpressions just informed me they have discontinued their one till end of year, GREAT!
