jmpmstr Posted May 2, 2013 #190 Posted May 2, 2013 Here is a group of miniature medals with the LOM to Lt. Col. Lloyd W. Sterns. The group is in a Spink and Son Ltd. leather case. I am drawn to anything dealing with Italian orders as well so this is a treat to see. Excellent with the documentation and the case is just the cat's meow.
jmpmstr Posted May 2, 2013 #191 Posted May 2, 2013 My newest, wrap brooch, small numbered 5574, but sadly not traceable...but pretty none the less....you cannot beat the quality of work on the older ones....

medalworld Posted August 19, 2013 #198 Posted August 19, 2013 A vintage mid to late 1960s, according to LOM guru pal A. Menke, Commander neck badge, awarded to Turkish General Mehmet Ali Keskiner (1906-1989). He joined the army in 1923 and got his fourth star in 1964, retiring a year later. Assuming the vintage is correct, the LOM could have been a retirement award after many years of interaction with US forces. P.S. Posting high quality pictures here was very difficult and time consuming just now. I had to degrade superb high res pics in Photoshop several times just so they would fit here, but to the point where they lost clarity. Is there not a better way, or am I missing something?
medalworld Posted August 19, 2013 #199 Posted August 19, 2013 The obverse of Ali Keskiner's LOM, previously mentioned.
