At this point he was a Captain.....Harvey E. Overesch. I believe he retired as a rear Admiral. He served in WW1, WW2, was Comandant of Midshipmen at Annapolis in 42-43, he also played football at Annapolis for the Navy in 1915(I think thats the date)....

Seeing as there are some LoM's to Soviets, thought I'd add a General Order I found at the archives to Soviet officers. Wonder if they even bothered trying to inscribe their names on the medals.

Enjoy!

A very rare TRIPLE Legion of Merit group to a USN recipient. Note that the LoM is a WWII Army type with longer ribbon, heavier enamel and gilt wrap brooch. Details on the awards are shown below.

Here's one that belonged to Brigadier General L.J. Stewart.

Amazing! Thanks for showing it. Quite eye popping.

Yep, thanks...caught that after I posted it. If I could find a Chief case I'd have somewhere proper to put them....

Hello

At Google-pictures you can find interesting pictures about LoM.

Take a look at the certificate LoM "(Degree of Commander)" but presented Officer

Third LoM Officer Degree is presented. Two Officer devices worn on Medal

I can't upload the pictures, hope someone else can do it.

HAVE A NICE DAY

Michael
