Brian Keith Posted January 29, 2010 Share #1 Posted January 29, 2010 I picked this photo out of a pile at an antique store where they would put miscellaneous photo's in a basket. I'm not really sure, but this could be a photo of a Service flag with three Gold stars. In black and white, I think the "value" of the blue color would be the same as the red of the border of the flag, thus I think these stars are gold. Uncommon enough for a passer by to the home to make a photo of the flag in the window. Note the processing date of May 1944. Also interesting is the patriotic border. What do you folks think? I wonder how many homes lost three family members? BKW
Teamski Posted January 29, 2010 Share #2 Posted January 29, 2010 From what I can see, the stars look blue. Can you do a hi-rez close-up? -Ski
Brian Keith Posted January 29, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted January 29, 2010 How's this? I guess I should have done this to start with. BKW
Teamski Posted January 29, 2010 Share #4 Posted January 29, 2010 Thanks for the close up. Black and white photos create havoc when trying to figure out colors. It is definately hard to tell. -Ski

Brian Keith Posted January 29, 2010 Author Share #6 Posted January 29, 2010 Usually this large type with multipal stars were from schools, churches and factories, to indicate sevice members from there. I have a couple with many stars like this. Nice Flag. BKW
