patches Posted May 7, 2022 Share #57 Posted May 7, 2022 Great find of Major General Robert H. York wearing the 82nd's RECONDO Arrowhead in the familiar place, on the right pocket, photo taken at Fort Benning Georgia sometime in 1966 when he was the Infantry School Commandant, York was recently the commander of the 82nd Airborne Division and not only wears the Recondo patch but also the 82nd as a Combat Patch, this for the Dom Rep which he was in command of the division at that time. The name switch came in February 1974. They were sold at a local trophy/embroidery shop in Fayetteville, NC in a package of 2 for a couple of dollars.
