Here is a picture of an Air Force Airman with a German Shepard dog. From the crop marks on the photo I suspect it has been published someplace. On the back is written "18 1/2", which I think is another indication that it was published.

Anyone know when or where it was published? It was purchased in Tulsa, OK.

Combat Tracker Team with Scout Dog. The 62nd Combat Tracker Platoon (1st Air CAV) (Airmobile) did, at times, work Scout Dogs with Combat Tracker teams.

Combat Tracker team from 62nd Combat Tracker Platoon (1st Air CAV Div) after receiving Bronze Star with V( Fall 1970 ). Combat Tracker Dog Otis (T0019) was awarded the BS Medal w/V on publisherd Orders. Otis was a bio dog bred at Walter Reed Army Hospital. He was mixed Labrador Retriever and Beagle. Not visible in pic, but he has a large white spot on his chest.

Very nice photos.

I just love German Shepherd Dogs (and others too) and still miss my dog Brandie (she passed away in 2009).

Gunbarrel,

Thanks for posting. Very enjoyable. I was a Combat Tracker platoon commander (Army) in VN. We used Labs for tracking and sometimes Scout Dogs for detection with Tracker Teams. Despite a kennel of Military Working Dogs we still had a mascot mutt in our rear area where the kennel was.

Skautdog,

I'm so glad you enjoyed the post. Thank you for the material you added.
