VXE-6 Navy Antarctic support squadron patches

The VXE-6 squadron patch is from the early 70's and made in a patch shop in New Zealand. The rest of the patches are from facilities at Antarctica, except the NAS North Island patch. North Island was the home base of VXE-6.

These are older late 50's, early 60's squadron patches and naval ships patches that supported Antarctic operations.

The top picture has some of the last patches I got directly from the squadron before they disestablished. The second picture has 70's and 90's versions of the squadron patch and puckered pete.

Hi Mike,

Thats some Antarctic unit patch collection you have. I have an older felt one, but I can't remember which one. I'll dig it out and scan it later for comparision. Those patches are hard to find and are very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
