larrystonebooks.com Posted June 20, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 20, 2007 Has anyone ever seen a P-43 smock with an EGA painted in blue on it? It a appears on the tan side also. - Larry
bigjoe Posted June 20, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 20, 2007 I had seen a marine HBT jacket a long time back that had TAC marked on the back in blue paint just like on your paramarine smock. Could that be navy paint?
cbuehler Posted June 20, 2007 Share #3 Posted June 20, 2007 I am quite sure these stencils are a one off job. The EGA looks like it is from a hand made stencil and looks similar to ones seen on sea bags etc. I wouldn't read to much into the significance of the blue paint. The original owner probably liked the color or it was the only one available. This set does not appear to have been used and possibly the original owner wanted to spiffy it up before packing it away as one of his obsolescent uniforms?
