m1ashooter Posted January 18, 2010 Share #1 Posted January 18, 2010 I hope this is the correct place to post this. I found this clip of a great stick flying their Chinook. The uniforms and gear of the troops it is picking up is interesting. All I can say is where do we get these great pilots and aircrew from. Rakkasan187 Posted January 18, 2010 Share #2 Posted January 18, 2010 Looks like a Special Forces ODA, The pilot may be from the 160th SOAR. Great video.. Leigh...
101CH47 Posted January 18, 2010 Share #3 Posted January 18, 2010 A technique all 47 pilots are trained to do. Nothing all that special about that landing. Lock the brakes, plant the aft landing gear, pull in 2 inches aft cyclic and hold it. Reverse the process on take off. Lot of team work between the pilot on the controls and the flight engineer. Cobrahistorian Posted January 20, 2010 Share #4 Posted January 20, 2010 In fact, that may be a Pennsylvania National Guard bird, IIRC.

Cobrahistorian Posted January 21, 2010 Share #9 Posted January 21, 2010 Hey, this is a lift issue, go back to your corner and don't come out until you own a cargo hook! damn.... One more thing on the helicopter to make us that much SLOWER..... I don't think a -64 with a cargo hook would really be that effective....
101CH47 Posted January 21, 2010 Share #10 Posted January 21, 2010 I don't know about those hooks slowing anything down. Seems I have out run many AH64's in a 47 and it has three hooks.
