kyhistorian01 Posted January 18, 2010 Share #1 Posted January 18, 2010 Here is another postcard photo from my archive. It appears to be an officer and when enlarged I can make out a 1 over a KY and behind it looks like infantry crossed rifles. Any comments or opinions welcome. KySoldier Posted March 25, 2010 Share #2 Posted March 25, 2010  Interesting photo and uniform. Have you been able to identify him??
BEAST Posted March 25, 2010 Share #3 Posted March 25, 2010 Nice image! Ok, first off I am no sword/saber expert so take this question with a big grain of salt. Isn't that the 1902 officer's sword? Also he doesn't have the "USV" on his collar. When was that reg changed?

I was going by the uniform for dating of the photo, but you are right it is a model 1902 so I am guessing the photo is from the early 1900s. Also many state regiments wore their state initials not USV for volunteer. Robert
