EmeraldBat Posted January 18, 2010 Share #1 Posted January 18, 2010 I have an aluminum soap container. The bottom is stamped CC 1114 M. Ltd B 1945 It measures about 3.5 inches by 2.5 inches. I have only located one reference on the internet, on worthpoint.com where it was sold as British. Any insight would be helpful - confirmation or redirection or - anything. Thanks! hawkdriver Posted January 18, 2010 Share #2 Posted January 18, 2010 The arrow head indicates it is British. Anytime you see that arrowhead on a piece of equipment, it is British property.
boyt44 Posted January 18, 2010 Share #3 Posted January 18, 2010 The 'Broad Arrow ' marking would indicate British Government property.

Agreed on the broad arrow. If I were betting man I would say the "B" is for the city of Birmingham. So it might be a a maker's mark of M. Ltd - Birmingham. My thoughts only ..... EmeraldBat Posted January 20, 2010 Author Share #7 Posted January 20, 2010 Thanks to all for the information. We have decided to keep it - it is a nice piece of British history. And, a very nice dish/tin!
