WWI Leather Pouch ID

I came across this leather belt pouch. It has a wooden block with electrical contacts inside. I have no idea what it could be used for. It doesn't have hardware to hold batteries and if it did, it could not hold much more than one or maybe two D cells. Dimensions are 4 by 4 inches by 2 inches deep. On the top is the lettering 29 2 HQ. Any thoughts?

Buzzerphone: I suspect this is the battery box for the 14CM hand held heliograph. BTW do have spare ground rod and "alligator clip" fpor 1914 Service buzzers? many thanks Steve McG /

The photo I have shows a bigger battery box and it is carried by shoulder strap, not a belt. Does anyone have a photo of this smaller box with a signal lamp?

Buzzerphone : IIRC the smaller battery box may be for one of the French Army heliograph sets, which were also used in AEF. Again I think I have seen a recreatioin article on French signaleers in MILITARIA magazine. Best to all Steve McG
