Need to classify this as Museum Esoterica, but kind'a neet. This is the safety belt of Oberleutant Carl Menckhoff's Fokker D VII brought down by 1st. Lt Walter Avery of the 95th Aero Squadron. Avery took this belt from the plane after it was forced down behind friendly lines.

Menckhoff was a celebrated German Ace, officially credited with 39 victories. - Menckhoff was Avery's first victory. - This was acquired directly from Lt. Avery by Harry Block. As you can see, Avery misspelled Menckhoff's name on the belt.
