I love it when helmets are modified to fit the personal preferences of pilots and aircrew.It belonged to Grover Eugene Welborn, Jr., 89 of Bowie, Maryland, he served as a Gunner's Mate 1c in the Navy from 1940 until 1946 Link to post Share on other sites

After 50 years of collecting I must prepare for the next adventure and I can't take my collection so Ebay auctions are underway (Jefftexoh). Aution title: "WWII US Navy Pilot's Leather Helmet NAF 1092; Goggles; Headset TH37; gloves" All items came from a veteran's estate and copies of his flight log and newspaper clippings will also come with this aviation group.
