This WW1 unit patch was made in the 1940’s for the collector market and sold by companies such as Patch King and Hobby Guild. These companies sold reproductions of many different WW1 (and WW2) units.

Hello Kurt,

I thank you for this information... I just acquired there one it enchére this night on Ebay USA. On James's book G. Thompson, he(it) is referenced as patch " Complete Guide to United States Marine Corps. For more than 5 years I looked for him(it) now that I found him(it), I see that I have courru after a fancy. Not grave I did not pay him(it) a big fortune.

I still like and collect the Patch King made for collector WWI patches. These were period made patches and would have been found in many WW2 era collections.
