colfaxer Posted December 14, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 14, 2009 I have two medical pouches. One is unreadable mfg with a date of 1945. It has a dot at the bottom of the snap, and is marked: "W6517" on the inside flap: the second one is marked: "Independent Awnings" and "1943" the bottom of the snap has a triangle with an "S" in it. This one is marked "4 329" or is it "A 329"? Anyway to determine the mfg of the 1945 dated pouch from the other details? Any other information that can be drawn on these? WWII usage for the '43 no doubt ? but the '45 less likely? Any value to these? Thanks, Jeff

Captainofthe7th Posted December 15, 2009 Share #3 Posted December 15, 2009 These are the M1942 carlisle pouches. The M1924 had two types, each was shorter than this. There should be photos in the reference section... All of them were used in WWII. The 1924 models bring in a bit more money especially the 'long flap' style. These are fun to collect on their own...they're always good for filling out a cartridge belt. Rob
Justin Posted December 15, 2009 Share #4 Posted December 15, 2009 Approx. $5.00 for one piece. On ebay you can get more per pouch. But that's ebay for ya!
