ESM/1 Navy issued signal mirror is visible in right leg pocket. Part of a white strap in upper hip right pocket is a tourniquet used in crisis situation after a bad shot (mentioned in some action report - thanks Paul for help).

Enjoy,

Jerry

Thanks Graham. Details as always make a huge good work :)!

Yeah, it was a great feeling to saw a SBD's on a big screen. Of course some issues could be better. 7/10 for me:) but why they used a USAAF T-30 throat mics? It was a tear in my eye for sure.

I hope you are well!

Jerry

Hello Jerry:

More marvelous improvements to your display. I salute you!

I especially like seeing the Australian-made square tip machete, a very scarce item even here in the USA and doubly so in Europe, no doubt. I also like the M1936 pistol belt modified with the ammunition loops for the .38 Special Tracer ammo for the S&W Victory. A very nice, authentic touch there.

I share your thoughts on the film MIDWAY. Many excellent parts, some not so excellent. I graded it as a B+ effort and am glad that I saw it.

Keep up the good work. You are an inspiration to the rest of us.

Regards,

Charlie

Thanks Charlie. The Australian machete is one of the my favorite items. A lot of USN/USMC aviators used it!

What a pity that only I and a few people put here some US NAVY aviators stuff. I guess more forum members have a great Naval Aviation items in his collections.

Thanks Navybean and thanks for the mirror :)!

Cheers,

Jerry

Jerry i took a little time today and took some picitures of some of my USN gear. I started with some parachutes, moved on to some Jackets, life vests, and few other items. Lot of pictures

First off is my QAS (quick attached Seat) chute pack with harness. Used mainly by Aircraft Carrier crews.

moving on, the next item is the QAC (quick attach chute) this is a harness with chest mounted D-ring. the chute was attached to the chest D-rings simular to the AAF type A-3. This chute was typically worn by larger aircraft like the PBY

there are a few more parachute types used by the USN such as the back pack style.

next are a few of the USN flight jackets used during WW2. I know there are more options and there are better threads covering this subject but this is a good sample.

M422A goatskin flight jacket WW2 version of the later G-1 Most people are used to.

moving on to some of the USN M421A series cotton light weight flight jackets. The are a few variations of this jacket, most with 2 pockets but also later versions with 3 and even 4 pockets. This jacket is also known as the ANJ2A I do not believe Army ever wore this coat.

first jacket is the M421A with 2 pockets.
