AirMechanic Posted December 2, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 2, 2009 I have a WWII dress shirt that is heavily starched, and and the starched areas are wrinkled. I would like to remove the starch and get the shirt dry cleaned. I have tried soaking the shirt for several hours, but after the shirt dries, the starched areas were still kind of hard (slightly less though). Do I need to keep on soaking it, or is there a better way to remove the starch?
Bluehawk Posted December 2, 2009 Share #2 Posted December 2, 2009 warm water, good quality laundry soap, agitate by hand, soak a long time, repeat as needed. [thus saith Mrs. Bluehawk, CMSgt Domestic Commandant]
USARV72 Posted December 4, 2009 Share #3 Posted December 4, 2009 Turn your dryer on high, allow it to get Hot. Turn it off and toss the shirt inside closing the door quickly.
