59-0419 is a survivor. It served in a half dozen or so active duty and air guard units and is now on display at Malmstrom AFB Montana.

While stationed at K.I. Sawyer AFB, Michigan in the late 1960's with the 410th Bombardment Wing, I had the chance to see VooDoo's of the 62nd Fighter Interceptor Squadron (Air Defense Command), on a daily basis. The 101 was big and LOUD! In July 1969, I was lucky enough to get a back seat ride in a T-33 trainer that was a"Target", for F-101's to practice intercepts. It was quite an experience to see these big boys in flight up close from another airplane. With a fuselage nearly as long as a B-17 and all that power made for one impressive fighter. I'll never forget it!
