kklinejr Posted November 22, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 22, 2009 I truly wish this one was named, but what a parade jacket. I picked this up via Ebay before the Ebay police could notice the Purple Heart dangling from the chest. This is the one and only Legion piece I own. CNY Militaria Posted November 23, 2009 Share #4 Posted November 23, 2009 Would have been a great research project if it was named! Regardless, it is a nice representative display piece.
Dave Posted November 23, 2009 Share #5 Posted November 23, 2009 It looks like it's from a specific county. I think it would certainly be worthwhile seeing if you could contact any of the American Legion posts down there to see if they had an 82nd vet, who, from the looks of his jacket, didn't pass away all that long ago. You never know, you might just get lucky. I know my dad is in the Honor Guard for his post and there's a whopping six of them who have been doing it for years and they all know each other very well. Just a thought... Dave

There is 103 collar brass on the Jacket so I'd be willing to bet that it's Post 103 Maplewood/Richmond Hieghts Mo post which is in St Louis County. I belong to American Legion China Post #1. I've never seen an Ike jacket like that.
