texcen Posted April 18, 2010 Share #129 Posted April 18, 2010 Nice patches. I keep seeing posts people asking about time period on the patches as if the term itself was restricted to patches worn on a pocket during WWII or Korea or Vietnam or Desert Storm or OEF and OIF and between all of those times. Actually, when you ask someone to post their pocket patches, it seems to open this up to any of those eras (not aware of any pocket patches being worn in WWI) So, wow, what an opportunity to show off all of the great stuff that has floated across the face of this earth in all of that time. or these. cavcon Posted June 10, 2012 Share #130 Posted June 10, 2012 ONLY the bottom right patch with the motto is a pocket patch, the other 3 were shoulder patches only. A little bit more Cav...

hardstripe Posted May 14, 2020 Share #134 Posted May 14, 2020 Here is one I was given upon arriving at Fort Carson in December 1973. Unfortunately, authorization for pocket patches had been rescinded by then so I never got to wear it. 4th Finance Co, Fort Carson.
riflegreen297 Posted May 14, 2020 Share #135 Posted May 14, 2020 I really like that Davy Crocket. Very nice, thanks for sharing. Dollar Dealers, that is classic. I am sure today it would probably say something like "Dolla Bills, Dolla Bills" on the top and "We Make It Rain" at the bottom.

seanmc1114 Posted February 1, 2021 Share #141 Posted February 1, 2021 I'm new to this topic. Here's and example of the 890th Engineer Battalion DUI worn as a pocket patch on olive green fatigues. The battalion is a unit of the Mississippi Army National Guard and I removed the DUI from the right pocket of an OG-107 uniform that belonged to a friend of mine's father in the early 80's. The SSI on the uniform was the 184th Transportation Brigade shown in the photo. Interestingly, when I posted this combo in a separate topic on this site a few years ago, someone else posted a full color example that appears to be Asian, most likely Vietnamese, made. There was some interesting discussion as to the origin of that patch since the 890th does not appear to have ever served in Vietnam or Korea at any point. patches Posted September 23, 2021 Share #149 Posted September 23, 2021 The PP of the old 731st Field Artillery Battalion of the Army Reserve out of Waterbury Connecticut, when this shirt was worn it was subordinated to the administrative Corps, the XIII Corps, HQ for XIII Corps was located at Fort Devens Massachusetts, and apparently controlled reserve units all over New England. The Metal and Enamel DI.
patches Posted September 27, 2021 Share #150 Posted September 27, 2021 Another 50s shirt with a PP, a WWII M43 HBT I might add. This time the old 73rd Anti Aircraft Battalion in West Germany, strange that someone stripped the U.S. ARMY Tape and what would of been a 7th Army shoulder patch, two very common insignia's, but left the two rarest ones, the Branch NAME Tape, and the PP, fortunate for us we guess. https://www.usarmygermany.com/Sont.htm?https&&&www.usarmygermany.com/units/Air Defense/USAREUR_12th AAA Gp.htm Also stripped we just seen is the Pfc Stripes that were there.
