duarte1223 Posted June 2, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 2, 2007 I'm looking for information on a couple of planes from a photo album I got recently, they collided head on in WW2, so I'm assuming there has to be some kind of information out there. The tail numbers are: 231620 and X38065. The first number of the 2nd tail number is cut off in the photo. Here are the shots I'm talking about, you can see both planes were almost completely obliterated by the collision and the fire on the ground. ghost Posted June 2, 2007 Share #3 Posted June 2, 2007 Hi Adam, 42-31620 (457th BG, 750th BS, *Skunk Hollow*) damaged by flak over Rouen, France June 2, 1944 and crash landed at base, veered to right, hit the wing of 42-38056 parked on a hardstand. Both planes totally consumed by fire. All survived. got this info from this web site: http://home.att.net/~jbaugher/usafserials.html Nice pics any more in the album CB
