bobgee Posted November 14, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 14, 2009 A friend sent me this link. These pictures clearly bring the physical nature of this war to us. Bobgee http://blogs.denverpost.com/captured/2009/...in-afghanistan/

Sabrejet Posted November 14, 2009 Share #4 Posted November 14, 2009 Superb images in the finest traditions of combat photography. Put me in mind of some of the old images from the Vietnam War. Thanks for posting the link. Ian
capa Posted November 14, 2009 Share #5 Posted November 14, 2009 thank you for posting this-it just goes to show you that good old fashioned photojournalism is not dead. AND, that still photography is so very important for documenting war. you can't put a video into a book. Don't forget that the photographer was putting himself in the line of fire, too. simply outstanding work, Capa

SKIPH Posted November 14, 2009 Share #7 Posted November 14, 2009 Great photos! My heart goes out to that troop carrying that mortar base plate, and what appears to be extra ammo.SKIP

ww2vault Posted November 18, 2009 Share #12 Posted November 18, 2009 Wow, those photos are in top notch quality! They are so good that at first I thought the first two pictures were 3D generated. We do indeed need more photos of the current war. - Jeff
oldfireguy Posted November 19, 2009 Share #13 Posted November 19, 2009 Great photos! My heart goes out to that troop carrying that mortar base plate, and what appears to be extra ammo. I thought the exact same thing. Maybe it's time to bring the mules back. Great photos.
