teufelhunde.ret Posted May 31, 2007 Share #1 Posted May 31, 2007 One seldom finds a store card that has not been punched several times and unknown number of emblems have rested on the card as and said to be "originals" Around the late 60's, or early 70's I picked these up at what was then known as "The Fleet Shop". At the time they were merely an oddity and thought it would be neat to have these, and two other emblem varieties I will show later. This pattern has its origins in previous emblems originating during the 20's & 30's by various manufactures. Wolf - Brown may have produced these, however without a hallmark, we can also presume these may have been made for them by others and placed on their store card. Its also quite likely these (private purchase emblems) may have been worn thru WW2 at which time the pattern was so distinctly different (from the pattern prescribed for use) any futher use or wear would have been stopped. While the emblems in and of themselves are not rare, their pristine condition and the original store card in very good condition make them highly desirable to the EGA collector.
