Greg Robinson Posted December 8, 2006 Share #1 Posted December 8, 2006 I picked up this pack this week. It's one of the rare USMC M1967's developed for use in Viet Nam to replace the aging M1941 load bearing system. It evolved from the XM64 experimental pack. It requires use of the USMC M1967 field suspenders and also included a cargo (lower) pack. By the time it finally actually got manufactured and sent to the FMF the Marines were pulling out of Nam. As are all examples I've seen this one has a 1970 contract date.
