3mxd Posted November 4, 2009 Share #6 Posted November 4, 2009 I find this information: http://www.virtualwall.org/ds/SnellRM01a.htm He is named in the low part: HHC, 3rd Brigade, 101st Abn Div * SGT David T. Sitton, Pueblo, CO What is mean HHC? Thank you Headquarters and Headquarters Company. The first "Headquarters" refers to the brigade commander's staff and the "Headquarters Company" refers to the unit to which the commander and staff are administratively assigned and also includes the cooks, mechanics, adminstrative clerks, communications specialists, etc. who are not on the immediate staff but support the staff. atb Posted November 4, 2009 Share #7 Posted November 4, 2009 "Can you identify the crests?" Those are DI's for the Noncolor Bearing Units (NCBU) of the 82nd Airborne Division. From the US Army Institute of Heraldry website- "The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 23 October 1942. It was redesignated for the Command and Control Battalion, 82d Airborne Division on 21 April 1958. It was redesignated for the noncolor bearing units of the 82d Airborne Division on 6 June 1966. The insignia was cancelled and a distinctive unit insignia of the same design as the shoulder sleeve was authorized on 31 July 1990. The original insignia was reinstated on 21 May 1998."
