Greg Robinson Posted May 29, 2007 Share #3 Posted May 29, 2007 One of them is.....the knife blade marked "USMC" and "KA-BAR/Olean NY" is a 1943 production of the USMC 1219c2 aka "K-bar". The other knife was made after 1974 but it's a legit issue piece.

Charlie Flick Posted May 30, 2007 Share #5 Posted May 30, 2007 What sets it apart from a WWII kinfe? The WW2 Camillus Mark 2 knives did not use the US-over-Camillus marking. That makes the VN era and later Camillus blades easy to distinguish from the WW2 blades. Charlie

Greg Robinson Posted May 30, 2007 Share #7 Posted May 30, 2007 So the Camillus is a 1974 piece? What sets it apart from a WWII kinfe? If you see a Camillus with blade markings of "US / CAMILLUS NY" then that's a post WW2 knife but made earlier than the one without the "NY" markings. Made from the early 1960's until 1974.
