Sgt. Rock Posted October 30, 2009 Share #1 Posted October 30, 2009 All: I have a US fixed bail helmet with Captain's bars that look like they were applied with Testors model paint and done by a child. Any thoughts on how to safely remove them? Take care, Ed
Bugme Posted October 30, 2009 Share #2 Posted October 30, 2009 Boy, that model glue can pull paint off of metal so be careful. I might try softening up the glue with a mild solvent that you know won't harm the original OD paint. I may sound like a broken record when it comes to using a product called "Goof-Off" but, I do know that it's safe to use on original factory OD finishes and it is a solvent that should soften the glue. I've never tried this so, take this only as a possibility. Someone else may chime in with a better idea.

Caseydiggz Posted December 7, 2009 Share #5 Posted December 7, 2009 Goof-off seems to work great on glue as well. A couple weeks back i had the same problem. Goof-off is a sure bet
