"Soldier art of (WWII)" In 1942 LIFE magazine held a competition for soldier artists to reflect & illustrate their experiences on active duty in the armed forces. Out of 1,500 entries, 16 winners were picked. 12

0f the 16 had their artwork published under The American Artists Group Inc. as a box of 12 Christmas Greeting cards. "By the men who are driving the tanks, firing the guns, doing the job".
