I am adding to this post two Christmas Cards and dinner menus from my fathers service in Vietnam in 1966. First is the front cover and back side from the 1st Infantry Division, printed full page and folded in quarters.

Have posted both of these elsewhere but thought it appropriate to repost them here. Two 8th airforce Christmas cards from a bombardier in the 368th squadron of the 306th Bomb Group from Thurleigh. And from a pilot from the 384th. Bomb Group at Grafton Underwood.

Merry Christmas to everyone on the USMF :)

Many of the men seated here were also present on December 7th, 1941 including then PFC Michael Fisher.

LT Michael Fisher, 517 PIR http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/mcall/obituary.aspx?pid=173172654

HQ Company 1st Battalion 517th PIR Christmas 1944 http://517prct.org/documents/xmas1944/christmas_1944_searchable.pdf

Sadly, 1st LT Michael Fisher, Company B, 1st Bat., HH&C, 517th PIR passed away just after midnight on 13 November 2014. He was on the Army’s championship pistol team and held a record for rifle at Fort Benning for many years. He is and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was a fighter until the end. He was a veteran of Pearl Harbor, The Bulge and Korea. Lt. Michael Fisher was the Jumpmaster in for Plane #17 during Operation Dragoon.

Plane 17 – Lt. Fisher, Jumpmaster - Jumped at 0505 and landed about three miles Northeast of Lorgues. The equipment bundles were found, most of the stick assembled, and they began to march to the Battalion objective. Just East of Lorgues, they encountered an enemy patrol and forced the enemy to withdraw. They received word that American troops were trapped in Lorgues, so they attempted to go into the town, encountered fire, but forced the enemy out. They then moved toward Les Arcs, being forced into hiding during the day because of the presence of large numbers of enemy troops. They moved into Les Arcs and joined a fire fight in progress between American troops and the enemy. They remained there until “D” Plus 2 at which time they withdrew to the Regimental CP and rejoined the Company on “D” Plus Three.
