Well, he could have worn the cap if he had REALLY served in the famed Irish regiment, the 69th New York, in World War I, instead of just playing the role in the movie.

 

A nice overseas cap for the veterans of this unit. Note the Irish green piping on the cap. The armband is also green of course, with a reverse side in black for wearing to funerals.

 

A nice little set, I thought, for the World War veterans of a famed unit.

Very nice Rainbow Div stuff Will. I have never seen the reversable armband before. Any markings or ID in the cap?

 

 

Um...yeah, I think it's named to a "Donovan, William".

Does that mean anything? :whistling:

 

 

 

Seriously, no, it unfortunately is not named or marked in any way that I have found.

By the way, the rainbow divisional emblem on both the cap and the armband are nicely direct-embroidered onto the material, and not seperate patches.
