Tom Nier Posted October 23, 2009 Share #1 Posted October 23, 2009 These two photos from the mid-1930s show Neptune Rex preparing to put fear in the hearts of greenhorn sailors. The scout seaplane has "Cincinnati" (CL6) on its fuselage, and Neptune's court is being set up in front of it. Old Neptune himself poses for the camera in the second shapshot. In the left background is another Omaha class light cruiser with its distinctive 2+2 funnels. Both photos came from an estate sale album.
