Private Joker Posted October 15, 2009 Share #1 Posted October 15, 2009 I recently purchased an overseas cap on Ebay. Standard army infantry which I was going to make into Paratrooper cap by sewing original airborne parch to cap. The cap was described as:"Excellent original WW2 Enlisted Infantry braided overseas/garrison cap." The photo showed a great cap crisp clean and blue piping. When the cap arrived to my home it was no doubt a different cap. The one received eas dirty dirty dirty. The blue piping looked brown! No recourse with Ebay/PayPal about returning this cap for a refund and the seller was un contactable. I licked my wounds and decided what can I do for this $35 cap. I want to clean it and see if I can get it to look like descent cap. Should I have it dry cleaned? or Should I use woolite? Or is there another alternative? Thanks
Jonesy Posted October 16, 2009 Share #2 Posted October 16, 2009 You could soak it in cold water and woolite for a couple of hours, air dry it, and then iron it up a little(DO NOT GET THE IRON NEAR THE PIPING). Or you could just have it dry cleaned, which always works well for me.
