jgawne Posted October 7, 2009 Share #1 Posted October 7, 2009 I was listening to an old interview I did with 26th Regt Anti-tank company officer Wally Wengel that I had done many years ago. I forgot that his ocmpany was sent to the British Commando school in Scotland for a one month course in "commando stuff." He had no idea why, but thought it was because they wanted the AT crews to be able to do something on the beach if they could not get their guns ashore. What was interesting is that while they were there, they woke up one moring to find all the British Commandos gone off on a raid. They had not even told the yanks they were training what was up.
