I am reasonably sure the ribbon bars have been added to this jacket. The jacket has some moth damage too. I bought it for less than $10 and mainly for the insignia.

Captain Duncan M Cocke, Logistics Officer, 5th Marine Division and Iwo Jima Veteran. Ribbon bar has Purple Heart with Gold Star and Asia Pac ribbon has holes for two missing campaign stars.

There were three Cocke brothers in the war. Last I knew, forum member MVMHM has both of the other brothers uniforms in his museums collection.

2nd Lt Joseph J Sexton, 2nd Plt Commander, C/1/2 and was killed at Tarawa on either the first evening or the second early morning while attempting to cross the airfield. Received posthumous Silver Star and Purple Heart.

The ribbons were not Sexton's. They are added for display purposes to show what he was awarded.
