Stinger Gunner USMC Posted October 9, 2009 Share #65 Posted October 9, 2009 Combat Medic of the 40th ID, with bronze star and purple heart and one that belonged to a former neighbor of my grandfather. Harold Barry had served in WWII in the 5th AF. reenlisted during Korea and never returned. Stinger Gunner USMC Posted October 9, 2009 Share #66 Posted October 9, 2009 The Navy Lt uniform belonged to Robert E Keeton, later a Senior District Court Judge from Mass. Keeton was one of the 272 survivors of the USS Liscome Bay, CVE-56 that was sunk by a Japanese submarine on 24 Nov. 1944 off of Makin Island. 644 Sailors and Marines were lost on the 56.
