And finally, you can never really have enough original Tank Destroyer patches, can you? even if they are the most common type?!

Best wishes, Jon.

Jim Baker, your six wheeled patches are absolutely superb!!!

I don't have any yet... Every time I bid on one (the few times they come up for auction) they go way beyond my price...

What you have there is a true Blue Chip investment. I am very envious... Best wishes, Jon.

Here's my patches as I showed before.

Jon, you got some really nice items there!
Thanks for posting them ........ and you're right ..... one can never have too many TD patches, hehe. ;)

If have the same happening with TD pillow covers .... they go way over what I'm willing to spend for them.
So far, I only got Armor related pillow covers (or shams).

These are (part) of my TD documents;

Photo postcard, apparantly made for this officer's mother (Lulu).
Taken May 23, 1945 in Brussels, Belgium.
It seems he has "combat leader patches" on his shoulder boards.

This TD patch came with the photo and apparently was removed from a shirt or jacket.

Finally got a set (after looking for several years) !

Dogtags and TD patch from a member of the 817th TD Bn.
The chain has a "Lourdes" medallion, a ring (stone is missing), a TD medallion and another medallion on it.
The patch is supposedly also from this soldier.

And this one is on its way to my TD collection too ....

Thanks, Jim.

Yeah, I got a little luck as the price didn't get too high this time ( ergo not higher than I was prepared to pay for it).

The dogtags are great with the additional items hanging on them.

I already have gathered some information on the soldier and the 817th TD Bn.

A nice research project.

It is amazing how one can look and look for quite some time for particular items and finds nothing.

Then suddenly ... like an avalanche, one falls on one at another.

I'm just happy that I could add these things to my TD collection.

A small (and I mean small) addition to the TD collection. I don't nomally go for anything in TD stuff but patches and manuals, but the detail on this lapel pin got my attention. It's smaller than a penny and was actually difficult to photograph. It looks much better in hand.

Why I'm not a fan of leaving the threads in used patches. I picked up these sweet little 802nd TD DUI's from a forum member. The first photo is what I got and the second is after they were "cleaned up". I think it's makes a huge difference removing the threads. Besides, the threads add nothing historically. Unless you're into thread. ;)

Here is a small group of TD insignia I managed to purchase recently.

The TD patch in the middle has some red thread added on its eye.

The 9th ID patch was an extra.

I believe the TD collar discs are British-made (the disc is marked "Ltd.").

Not really an insignia or patch, but just as neat anyhow! Has a pic of the TD patch on it! First time i have heard of the "Official" music of the Tank Destroyers! Adopted in 1944 so i guess it wasn't used to long! Enjoy!
