TMBN Posted August 2, 2008 Share #203 Posted August 2, 2008 Hi Just wanted to post this pic of me in front of two M-18 Hellcats. The pic is taken in 1999 in the Norwegian Battalion camp in Modrica, Bosnia. These where used by the Yugoslav army JNA up to the early 90s and some saw action in the war. Not sure if these two saw action. Anyway they were found in one of the camps in our AO ( cant remember if it was bosnian-serb or bosnian-croat camp). If Im not mistaken theses were ready to be transported down to Tuzla (Air Base), to the 1st Air Cav.
TMBN Posted August 2, 2008 Share #204 Posted August 2, 2008 What a find!Any idea what was their fate? Thanks for posting this. Erwin Hi Erwin, Glad you liked the pic, wasnt sure if it was appropriate posting it here. They were given to the US Army. Think it was the 1st Cav that got them, guess they are back in the US again. Gonna google some and see what info might turn up. So maybe they are at some museum somewhere. Cheers, Ole

Jeeper704 Posted August 23, 2008 Share #213 Posted August 23, 2008 Received this shirt today.Nice surprise ...... it is a "Special" ..... still has all the inside buttons (to button the gas flap) and the two buttons on the neck (for the anti-gas hood), the little gas flaps at the cuffs but the large gas flap on the chest is worked away.No ASN or (partial) name though.Erwin On its way to Belgium ....Shirt, Cotton, Khaki, Enlisted.Size 15x33With 4-wheeler TD patch and Corporal stripes.According to the seller, it came from a flea market, so no other info available.Erwin
37thguy Posted October 31, 2008 Share #214 Posted October 31, 2008 Here's my one and only. Sorry guy's I don't collect TD stuff but this one dropped in my lap right from the vet. He served in the 637th TD (37th Div). He started out in one of their Arty regiments in the early 40's. He commanded the Pioneer Company. Made it to the gates of Manila where a Japanese grenade made it's way inside his M-20. That put an end to his war. Lived in the Cleveland, Ohio area where he past about 16 years ago or so. Will try and dig out more of the stuff I got from him including a summer weight blouse, photo albums, small unit history, jungle boots, caps... TSC Posted November 2, 2008 Share #217 Posted November 2, 2008 Hello! I picked up a grouping that had a few TD items. Not sure about the patch (maybe a repop!?), but the round metal disk looked like one posted in the a previous thread that was attached to a lighter. The last item was a unit history booklet. Thanks, Tony
