USMC Squadron, RECON and other Patches

These USMC patches also came from the lot I mentioned before. Unfortunately most if not all have glue stains on the backside :crying:

What era are they? Are the Vietnam era made or maybe made in Vietnam? :blink:

All except for the USAF squadron patch in the first photo, are collector copy patches made in the 1980's. Tese were made in Japan and Taiwan purely for collectors.

Yes, that would be it. Appears to be for 1st Mobile Aerial Port Squadron, error patch.

The patch with the Gorrila in helmet/rifle/cannon/water is the Disney design for the 1st Defense Battalion Fleet marine Base San Francisco,Calif.

It is shown in the "Disney Dons Dog Tags" book,most of those you have appear to be of "Disney " types on this photo.

Morgan's book states:

Penguin in boat- 1st Def Bn Iceland

1st Radio Co- as states

Indian w/ bow- 2nd Mar Div 2nd Scout Plt

3rd Recon Bn- as states

3rd Service Bn- as states

Dragon & 3- 3rd Amphibious Truck Co

Dragon w/ broom- 3rd Marine Div, 1st Def Bn

Elephant & Tree- 5th MAC, 16th AAA Heavy

Mouse and slingshot- 5th MAC, 16th AAA Light

7th Marines- as states

9th Marines Regt- as states

 

That leaves the one with the shoe, and the turtle with the cross unidentified for you at this time. Hope this helps. Hunter
