mp44 Posted September 7, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 7, 2009 I think this was made in the late 60's, early 70's. If anyone has any information on it I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

swag Posted September 8, 2009 Share #4 Posted September 8, 2009 It looks like a stripped down SPH-4 flight helmet used by helicopter aircrew members.
Spathologist Posted September 8, 2009 Share #5 Posted September 8, 2009 Concur. A SPH-4/A that would give any ALSE officer a stroke.
hawkdriver Posted September 8, 2009 Share #6 Posted September 8, 2009 I thrice that, SPH-4 that has pretty much been mutilated. Someone has completely stripped it nude and then put a really bad cammo job on it. The ear cup seems to be cracked, so about the only thing it is good for is finish stripping the styrofoam and the liner out and using them in another helmet for a rebuild. The shell may be repairable, depending on how bad the crack in the earcup is.
