Here's a nice grouping I picked up at an estate sale not long ago. This one is proof positive that some families have no appreciation of where they came from and the stories that their ancestors could have told. The family having this sale knew that this uniform had either belonged to their father or uncle. The two men had lived together since they had both become widowers and the family didn't keep anything that belonged to either man. They admitted that they had sold one uniform to the auctioneer before the sale. Of course he didn't want me seeing what he got when I asked him about it so no doubt he got a hell of a deal and knew what he was getting. Still though these items were kept back for the auction and were still in a 1940's suitcase. All in all a nice group. I left the people my name in case they came up with any information as to which man this may have belonged to. You guys have any idea what the third DI is on the left breast? Not one I have ever seen before.
