joshypogi Posted August 29, 2009 Share #1 Posted August 29, 2009 Hello Everyone, I have this Meyer senior pilot wing I recently bought. It weighs approximately 21 grams in my postal scale. Marked Sterling withe sheild. I thought it was good enough to be a true original. I think so for the following reasons: a. The senior star is sitting on little stilts and not attached directly by the two bottom points of the stars b. The pin has a "cam stop" or an elbow. c. There are a bit of frosting in some areas. I have been told over that Meyer's are a land mine and definitely took a chance on this one, based on my gut feeling. I would like to confirm if this is a original peice or a replica from my fellow collectors in this forum. Any comments are greatly appreciated. Thank you and Aloha from Hawaii Jason

pfrost Posted August 29, 2009 Share #4 Posted August 29, 2009 Hi, Do a search for these, we had a recent thread about the NS Meyer wings, including the senior pilot rating. This looks fine to me, I have no issues that would make me worry.

DMD Posted August 30, 2009 Share #6 Posted August 30, 2009 Look at the Meyer shield on the right side. It is the "reverse" hallmark, a mirror-image variation. You can see that MEYER starts with a reversed R and ends with M. It's a sign of a good wing.
John Cooper Posted September 2, 2009 Share #7 Posted September 2, 2009 Another wing for the fastest growing collection on the forum! You should post a family shot!
