Got da Penny Posted May 6, 2007 Share #1 Posted May 6, 2007 Here is a wing that i can't ID, this came in a group lot of Military insignia with many OLD pieces that were good and correct for ww2 period. I more than got my $$ back out of selling the "leftovers" that i didnt need from this group. I thought i read somewhere that the original wings had a solder hinge to base application??. and the pin opens up at 90 Degress only. there is no maker mark. Thanks, Carey

John Cooper Posted May 7, 2007 Share #3 Posted May 7, 2007 The wing looks like somw of the modern made wings I have seen except with a blue star vs. 8th, 9th,... AF insignia. It could also be a sweetheart wing... see below to compare.
pconrad02 Posted May 7, 2007 Share #4 Posted May 7, 2007 If not a sweetheart, possibly an early airline?
TBMflyer Posted May 7, 2007 Share #5 Posted May 7, 2007 Could it be a civilian contract school, the guys who did the early training for pilots? Just my two cents, Mark.
