CNY Militaria Posted May 6, 2007 Share #1 Posted May 6, 2007 Here is a cool ike I got last year to a SSG serving in Europe. Note the 4 collar disc style of wear. I plan on selling this one soon, mainly because of the large size! Justin

776thamtrac Posted May 6, 2007 Share #3 Posted May 6, 2007 Awesome Ike man! The 44th is one of those overlooked divisions that I really like seeing items from. You know me I go in for the obscure stuff for the most part lol
CNY Militaria Posted May 6, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted May 6, 2007 Thanks, I had to have it at the time, and realized that I didn't really "need" it, lol. For the price, I couldn't pass!
Nellis Posted May 6, 2007 Share #5 Posted May 6, 2007 Nice jacket!! Whats the deal with the second set of "collar brass"?
KurtA Posted May 6, 2007 Share #6 Posted May 6, 2007 Nice jacket!! Whats the deal with the second set of "collar brass"? Two sets were the regs in the late 40's. Then they went back to just one set. Kurt
CNY Militaria Posted May 6, 2007 Author Share #7 Posted May 6, 2007 Kurt is correct. They are not often seen on uniforms really, but they did use that 2nd set.
776thamtrac Posted May 6, 2007 Share #8 Posted May 6, 2007 Yeah late 40's and into the early 50's all the cool kids were wearing two sets. To be more exact it was authorized for wear of two sets from 1946-1951 although not always done. Some guys opted for the single set of domed brass, or in some cases I have even seen the domed worn in doubles as well. Also of note is 1946 was when the collar brass were also ordered for wear on the Army enlisted khaki uniform. CJW
