MattOravik Posted May 5, 2007 Share #1 Posted May 5, 2007 I just got this today. It's a an early M1910 bolo scabbard dated 1911. Stitching on one side of the leather needs repaired. Now I just need a bolo that fits in it. -Matt.
Greg Robinson Posted May 5, 2007 Share #2 Posted May 5, 2007 Yep...the 1st pattern Model of 1910 bolo scabbard. Has the hook on one side for the scabbard catch on the bolo and has the metal sleeve around the cartridge belt hooks. I have one that came with an "SA1912" bolo but markings are long gone. Any of the pre WW1 Model of 1910 bolos would be correct for that scabbard.
New Romantic Posted May 8, 2007 Share #3 Posted May 8, 2007 Thanks for posting your bolo scabbard Matt, this will be good reference as I hunt for one of these. A friend of mine had a bolo scabbard about 4 years ago with the catch, but I passed on it thinking it was an ordinary M1917 scabbard. I can't remember if the scabbard cover was the earlier one like yours or a typical 1917-1918 cover.
