OD MAN Posted August 22, 2009 Share #1 Posted August 22, 2009 I got a WWII gold screwback US seal cap badge that is a little rusted on the back and the front is worn and loosing its gold finish. Is there a way to restore the front to a gold color and get the rust off the back or is it not even worth it?
the.warlord1944 Posted August 25, 2009 Share #2 Posted August 25, 2009 My opinion is leave it as is. Don`t destroy any further. Never use chemicals or such. just use an old toothbrush and try to get the rust of very gently. Might take a heck longer but you don`t destroy the golden finish on the front that way.
