macgunner01 Posted August 20, 2009 Share #1 Posted August 20, 2009 hello everyone, newbie to the forums, on recommendation from another board. looks pretty cool over here! :smokin: i recently acquired a blade-marked M3 Imperial knife, with an interesting scabbard: it appears to be an M8 fiber body, with the throat from a US M1 scabbard on top of it. the gents over at the other board saw it, and thought that I should post it here for the knife gurus to take a look at. So please: let me know what you think (both of the knife and the scabbard: the pictures are all clickable). Thanks!
MrJitters Posted August 23, 2009 Share #2 Posted August 23, 2009 I am also very interested to hear what Greg or Gary have to say about that scabbard.
hotlead Posted August 23, 2009 Share #3 Posted August 23, 2009 I have one of those scabbards, it was with a trimmed down M1 bayonet I got years ago from the sportmans guide, I think from South Korea.
bayonetman Posted August 23, 2009 Share #4 Posted August 23, 2009 Hotlead is correct. It appears to be one of many slight variants of scabbards that the South Koreans used with their cutdown/modified M1 bayonets to the M5 blade size. I have seen at least 3 versions of this type of scabbard.
