jwc1974 Posted August 18, 2009 Share #1 Posted August 18, 2009 I just picked this PH up at a local antique mall. Is it offically engraved? I will be selling it in the for sale section. I think it is but want some feedback on it before trying to sell. Thanks.

scottplen Posted August 18, 2009 Share #14 Posted August 18, 2009 he is listed as died in captivity so could family recieved it late? he is listed as DNB but listed having BS PH
mvmhm Posted August 19, 2009 Share #15 Posted August 19, 2009 he is listed as died in captivity so could family recieved it late? he is listed as DNB but listed having BS PH The 31st (Polar Bears) was in the PI/Bataan/Corregidor when the IJA overran the PI...so maybe he was captured there, died in a POW camp, and declared dead at the end of the war...which would account for a post-war style engraving.....just a thought......
